Sahana is a co-founder of Nirathisayam. She was working for a reputed IT company. In 2015 she lost her IT job then she wanted to start something. An Opportunity that came on her way was to make Creative products and serve customers.
When she had just started to explore options other than IT, her father-in-law had this invitation ready to join him in the Gifting Business that he owned. They say “Opportunity knocks at your door just once” and hence she just grabbed it. They were a small Retail Store in one of the reputed Malls in Bangalore where they would sell picture frames, mugs, Pen stands and a few other readymade gift items to their walk-in customers. Their products and services were very much appreciated by their customers. They started seeing a lot of demand for customization and personalization here. Most of their manufacturers required a minimum quantity to customize products. This gap in the manufacturing industry to customize a single product finally gave birth to Nirathisayam.
Nirathisayam is a one-stop solution for all your gifting needs. Be it one piece or multiple pieces. Nirathisayam products mostly include customized Collage photo frames, designer photo frames, Laminated prints, large format canvas prints, and stretched canvases. They also personalize products like Mugs, T-shirts, Sipper bottles, Stones, calendars, etc.
Started with one retail store, Nirathisayam slowly expanded to having five retail stores in Bangalore and a manufacturing unit with 17 odd employees. They sell products via Flipkart, Amazon, and a few other e-commerce websites. Nirathisayam was incorporated in 2019 and it was during this time that they went looking for VC funds to span Nirathisayam Pan India.
They say, as we grow we tend to forget or rather ignore small things that eventually give rise to bigger problems. Nirathisayam reached a stage where revenues started dropping and employees started quitting. Most of the retails stores were shut and Nirathisayam was left with one retail store, a manufacturing outlet, online presence with just a few employees.
However, they analyzed the market a little more during this phase and saw huge gaps in the services being provided in the current gifting industry like doorstep delivery, free previews and design ideas, free consultation and free replacements in case of damage in the product. Nirathisayam is now trying to fill these gaps by including services like art pickup and drop, consultation on creating beautiful gallery walls for your homes and office spaces, on-call consultation on framing delicate art and artifacts, drop shipping for B2Bs and an ideation-to- installation kind of a model where customers can book their orders via call/email and get the products delivered and frames installed at ease.
Nirathisayam portfolio has now expanded with wide varieties of home décor products which include handmade trays, varieties of multipurpose boxes, Keyholders, and mirrors along with their core products being Picture Frames and personalized gifts. Their customer base now includes both B2B and B2C customers. Nirathisayam is proud of its genuine customer testimonials on Google Business and happy to say that they are one of the highly-rated businesses in Bangalore currently.
The story here is about standing strong even when you know the situation is getting worse. Holding on to something that you strongly believe shows your commitment, dedication, and passion (or whatever names you call it) and eventually gives the kind of results that would exceed your expectation, provided the efforts and hard work is channeled in the right direction.
